Outcomes Studies
Annual Outcomes Studies provide insight into the effectiveness of the Girl Scout Leadership Program.
Each year, Girl Scouts of Gateway Council surveys girls from across the council to determine changes in their attitudes and perceptions of themselves and their Girl Scout experience. The information helps us understand how we are helping to make a positive impact on the healthy development of girls, and where we may have room for improvement in helping girls achieve positive outcomes.
2010-11 Outcomes Study
The 2010-11 Outcomes Study results indicate girls have made gains in most Discover related outcomes, experienced some declines in outcomes related to Connect, and expressed mixed results related to Take Action outcomes.
As you review the results, think about the activities, conversations and opportunities to Discover, Connect and Take Action for the girls in your troop or group. Think about how you can guide your girls towards experiences that support outcomes achievement. Use the Journey materials, and especially the Adult Guide, to ensure you are focusing on meaningful outcomes and not only busy activities. Build in time for girls to reflect on what a program opportunity or service project has meant to them.
We want to hear from you. What would support your efforts to assure we deliver on our promise to girls and to volunteers to build girls of courage, confidence and character?
