Girl Scouting offers volunteer opportunities that can be tailored to suit most busy schedules. Listed below are current opportunities within Gateway Council. Coach Coaches support adult volunteers to ensure that all girls have a high-quality Girl Scout Troop experience. The Coach supports recruitment of new girls and volunteers and the retention of existing members. Coaches place girls in troops and continually work with volunteers to deliver opportunities for growth and skill-building.
Council Trainer Do you have an interest in facilitating courses for volunteers? Become a Girl Scouts of Gateway Council Trainer! We are currently looking for Volunteer Council Trainers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
Leader/ Advisors/Mentors Work with a committee of adult volunteers to directly serve girls in the troop or group setting. These volunteers provide leadership to troops that support girls in becoming their best selves. Through a girl-adult partnership, girls learn values and life skills so that they may become resourceful citizens and competent leaders.
Pen Pal Coordinator Connect Girl Scouts in our 16-county jurisdiction to pen pals located in other states through a national pen pal site.
Public Relations Coordinator We are looking for a few talented, energetic, organized people to join our communications team! A desire to learn about non-profit communications and public relations, and the ability to work with many different personalities is important. Good writing skills, experience with blogs and social media are required.
Service Unit Treasurer The Service Unit Treasurer ensures accurate recording and reporting of Service Unit funds. Under the direction of the Service Unit Manager, Treasurers support the activities of the Service Unit by managing funds in the Service Unit bank account in a transparent manner by keeping detailed financial records and reporting on the financial status of the Service Unit regularly.
Troop Registrar Manage the troop membership registration process by ensuring leaders and parents register their troop members before October 1, helping leaders ensure all new girls are registered in a timely manner, keeping records of current membership following-up on any lapsed girl and adult membership.
Troop Treasurer The Troop Treasurer ensures accurate recording and reporting of troop funds. Under the direction of the troop leader and committee, Treasurers support the activities of the troop by managing funds in the troop bank account in a transparent manner by keeping detailed financial records and reporting on the financial status of the troop regularly.
