Highest Awards

Bronze. Silver. Gold. These represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn.

All three awards give you the chance to do big things while working on an issue you care about. Whether you want to plant a community garden at your school and inspire others to eat healthily for your Bronze, advocate for animal rights for your Silver, or build a career network that encourages girls to become scientists and engineers for your Gold, you’ll inspire others (and yourself).

Also a given: as you earn one of Girl Scouting’s highest awards, you’ll change your corner of the world—and maybe even beyond. The possibilities are endless.

Bronze & Silver FAQs

When is the deadline for the Bronze and Silver Projects?
Sept. 30, 2016, to be recognized at the April 2017 Young Women of Distinction event.

How do we submit the final report?
All final reports will need to be submitted electronically for the faster processing. If a troop decides to submit a paper copy of the final report, of which will need to come from the website, they will be responsible for following up to make sure the paper copy was received before Sept. 30.

How long will it take to receive the final approval from the committee?
Any reports that come in from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30 may not receive a final approval and an email of instructions on how to purchase the patches until the second week in October.

When the final approval is given, what items can the troop leader purchase for the girls?
It is recommended that they purchase the pin and the patch, because they will only receive a medal at the Young Women of Distinction Ceremony.

When is the annual ceremony or Young Women of Distinction?
April 2, 2017.

Can we submit pictures that were taken while the girls worked on their project?
Yes, pictures are recommended.
