Aquatics Weekend 1 - Fishing & Citizen Science - B
Camp Kateri provides an excellent environment to experience the outdoors! Lunch is included in this session.
Come out and enjoy time together and learn the basics of Fishing! Freshwater fishing is fun and challenging for everyone! Discover the basics of baits and lures, and sure luck is a good thing to have, but technique will really reel in the big catch! This session teaches catch and release, and ways to help the environment!
DO TRY THIS AT HOME! Whether you’re interested in nature, space, medicine or the environment you can contribute to scientific knowledge. Try your hand at counting birds or identifying frogs. Learn how to measure air quality or rainfall. Experiment with apps to measure noise levels and tag your wildlife sightings. Discover how to research projects to do at home that match your interests. Get involved in the future of your planet!
Note - Girls will be divided between morning and afternoon sessions.
* This event is for 2018 registered Girl Scouts, and registered & approved adult volunteers.
* For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non- Girl Scouts or siblings.
* Girl/adult ratios must be followed unless otherwise indicated in the program description. Adults are expected to stay on the premises and in some cases, help girls during the event.
* Adult chaperones are encouraged to participate, and may be asked to assist instructors during the program (based on space and equipment availability, per the Aquatics instructors).
