Scouts will come to their senses in this multi-disciplinary workshop that teaches the biology of the five senses through hands-on science experiments. This workshop will help the scouts understand the difference between their five senses. This event costs $12 per girl.

San Agustin

Location: Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park

Travel back in time and discover the 1740s at the Fountain of Youth in downtown St. Augustine. Sixth grade Girl Scout docents will show how young ladies lived in 18th century St. Augustine. Take part in pastimes of another time period and imagine yourself in history.

Ximenez Fatio

Imagine being amoung Florida's first tourists in a fashionable boarding house (known today as hotels); before any modern luxuries 150 years ago (1845-1860). Girl Scouts in the 7th - 9th grades will be the re-enactors in this program sponsored by The National Society fo The Colonial Dames of Ameria in The State of Florida. Our Living History Day will be filled with the ordinary becoming extraordinary.

Girls will learn about the stars and other out-of-this-world objects! Practice using telescopes, learn your way around the sky, and find out why the constellations are the way they are! This event is $7 per person.

Junior Badge Workshop, Investigation - Detective (SOLD OUT)

Through the power of observation and problem solving, scouts will become true detectives. As they communicate in code they will learn true fingerprinting skills, crime scene investigation and team work. Juniors will even solve a real mystery! This event is $12 per girl.

Overnight Adventure @ Kennedy Space Center

Are you looking to add to your outdoor adventures? Canoeing is a fun and exciting way to enhance your skills and add to your experiences! If you like to test your aquatic abilities and you love the outdoors, then this dual certification course is designed just for you. This course is offered to all members ages 16 and up.

She's a Park Explorer (DBJ)

Location: Ichetucknee Springs State Park

At Ichetucknee Springs State Park, many springs combine together to make one gigantic spring run, the Ichetucknee River! This river is one of the most pristine in Florida. Not only is it great fun to canoe, snorkel, and tube, but the Ichetucknee River is also home to an amazing variety of plants and animals. Park rangers work hard to keep the river clean and protected. To make sure it stays healthy, they use many tools to determine its condition, such as monitoring chemicals in the water, measuring its flow, and keeping watch on its wildlife. Learn about these techniques through hands-on activities that will include a demonstration of how the aquifer works, fun games, water-sampling, and protecting aquatic animals. This event costs $7 per person.

Cadette Badge Workshop, Investigation - Special Agent

Special agent time! Scouts will put their detection skills to the test. In this workshop our special agents will look for clues, investigate and watch body language. They will take out their magnifying glass and look under microscopes to find answers. The cost for this event is $12 per girl.

Hands-on activities will include making a shorebird identification field book, a bird beaks game (Daisy _ Junior), building sea turtle nest stakes and screens (Cadette-Ambassador) and a sea turtle survey exercise on the beach.
