2018 Girl Scout Week
Sunday, March 11
Girl Scout Sunday
Start the week by celebrating inclusivity! Whether you’re Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim or not religious, take some time today to connect with your beliefs and values and learn about someone else’s. And take a moment to perform an act of kindness — that’s something everyone believes in!
Monday, March 12
Girl Scout Birthday
Happy birthday, Girl Scouts! On this day in 1912, Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low assembled a group of 18 girls from Savannah, Ga., for the first ever Girl Scout meeting. Show you’re a proud Girl Scout by wearing your uniform to school! You can also share why you’re a Girl Scout with your friends, and encourage other girls to join.
Tuesday, March 13
Be a go-getter
Take action in your community! Get your troop together to do a simple service project like cleaning up trash at the beach or in a local park. Learn more about the G.I.R.L. Agenda to feel inspired and prepared to make the world a better place.
Wednesday, March 14
Be an innovator
Share a STEM activity with your family! Make your own slime, visit madewithcode.org to experiment with computer coding or check out the STEM badges you can earn. From robotics to botany to kitchen science, the possibilities are endless!
MORE TO CELEBRATE: Attend the Girl Scout Birthday Party at the GSGC Office! Make birthday SWAPS, sing “Happy Birthday” to Girl Scouts, enjoy a cupcake and snacks, and join in other fun activities! Bring a friend who might like to join Girl Scouts and show her what we’re all about. The shop will be open with 12% off your entire purchase today!
Thursday, March 15
Be a risk-taker
Think about what makes you uncomfortable and how you can tackle your fears. Try a new outdoor activity with your troop or family and sing your favorite camp song at the top of your lungs — then sign up for summer camp!
Friday, March 16
Be a leader
Girl Scouts take the lead every day, in ways big and small. Raise your hand, stand up against bullying and seize opportunities to help those in need. You’re committed to changing the world!
Saturday, March 17
Girl Scout Sabbath
This is the perfect day to reread and contemplate the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Find out more about the My Promise, My Faith pin and start taking steps to earn it, no matter your beliefs.
Complete an activity each day to earn a Girl Scout Week patch! You can purchase patches in the GSGC Shop or online.
