Program Aides, also known as PAs, are Girl Scouts who plan and lead activities and events for younger girls.

This training weekend enables girls to explore their leadership through participation in hands-on activities, skill building, and reflection in their new PA Leadership Journal. Girls will earn their PA Pin by spending Friday evening and Saturday training to become a Program Aide. Saturday night, girls will elect an Event Director and work on committees to plan an event for younger Girl Scouts. On Sunday, PAs will begin to accumulate hours toward their PA Patch by using their newly acquired leadership skills and event expertise to host a Daisy Fun Day or a Brownie Play Day. A confirmation that includes a packing list will be provided.

PA Volunteer Opportunities

Girls must have completed a Program Aide Training Weekend to volunteer as a PA. PAs can acquire the 25 hours needed to earn the PA patch by volunteering their leadership skills within a younger girl troop, at a Service Unit event, or at a council sponsored volunteer opportunity.

You can help other girls learn about the night sky at Visual Astronomy events! Bring your creativity and help the instructors come up with new activities for future sessions. Please bring a warm jacket as the temperature drops at night.

Lead the hunt for buried treasure at North Fork! Learn how to use the GPS systems Saturday morning and search for the caches yourself, then lead younger girls in activities and caching on Saturday afternoon. Pre-Requisite: PA Training Weekend. Please bring a bag lunch, water bottle, and comfortable clothing.
