How the Cookie Crumbles

Each package of Girl Scout cookies costs $4 or $5, and all the proceeds stay right here in Gateway Council! But where does that $4 or $5 go, exactly? Take a look:

24% — Cookie Program + Baker Costs
GSGC pays a little more than $1 per box of cookies to Little Brownie Bakers. Worth it!

22% — Troop Proceeds, Troop Rewards, Girl Rewards
Troops earn 50-85 cents per box of cookies sold! Girls make big plans for those funds —  service projects fun trips unique adventures and  more.

16% — Camp Facilities + Program
Girls love our camps, so we make sure to give them plenty of TLC! Part of the revenue from cookies support maintenance and upkeep of our camp properties. This keeps  camp registration as affordable as possible!

13% — Girl Scout Leadership Experience
You’ve seen the hundreds of  programs, events and training opportunities on GSGC’s calendar. The Girl Scout Cookie Program supports staff and resources to make these opportunities — like our  STEM programs or  Girl Scout Day at the Duval County Courthouse  — a reality! Revenue also contributes to financial assistance to make Girl Scouting available to each and every girl regardless of her family's ability to pay.

19% — Member + Volunteer Support
Girl Scout volunteers complete training before taking on a troop or other role, and GSGC’s membership team supports thousands of volunteers  through their own Girl Scout journey! The cookie program provides funding for these staff members, training for both staff and volunteers, and ongoing development training to address emerging needs of girls and volunteers.

6% — Customer Service + Support
GSGC might not have a dedicated customer service team, but that’s why you have each and every one of us!  We’re all here to answer questions, resolve conflicts, provide administrative support, manage member data — you name it. Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, staff has the resources we need to make sure volunteers and girls have the resources they need!
