Counselor in Training II
Levels: Grades 9-12
When: June 7-12
Where: Camp Kateri
Do you dream about working at Girl Scout Camp someday? Are you
looking for leadership opportunities? Do you want to serve as a role
model and mentor for younger Girl Scouts? You can do all that while
earning your Counselor in Training II certification!
CIT II Girl Scouts will complete a CIT Leadership refresher course
while reviewing basic life and outdoor skills. Each CIT II Girl Scout
will then be assigned to a program area (such as archery, hiking,
canoeing, kayaking, sailing) and CIT II Mentor, who they will work
with throughout the week to lead younger girls and develop skills in
their specific program area.
Girls can help prepare our next generation of leaders through
development, training in youth group dynamics, safety and outdoor
living. Girls will also gain practical experience working directly
with younger girls.
Training consists of two weeklong sessions. The first week is set
for June 7-12; attendance is required. When registering for this
session you will be asked to choose the top three camp sessions you
would like to attend to complete your training.
After you apply, the camp director will contact you for an
interview. During this interview you will receive your second week
dates. There is no additional cost for the second week.
