TWO PART TRAINING
Classroom: Saturday, Feb. 9, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., GSGC Service Center
Overnight: March 2-3, Black Creek Ravines, Middleburg

In this training, you will learn the basics of backpacking, such as what should be packed including sleeping bags, how to find the right campsite and pitch a tent, as well as cooking with fire.

Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed Wilderness Hiking, be in 7th grade or higher, and complete the classroom training to attend the overnight portion on March 2.

*For the classroom portion, each participant will need to bring their own paper, pencil, water, snacks and lunch.
*The course will only be considered complete if the participant attends both the classroom and trip portions.
*This event is for 2019 registered Girl Scouts, and registered & approved adult volunteers.
*For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
*To maximize girl participation, chaperone openings are limited. Chaperones may place themselves on the Wait List and we will do our best to accommodate once registration has closed.
*Adults are expected to stay on the premises and in some cases, help girls during the event.
