110 Days of Giving
This year we are celebrating the Girl Scout’s 110th Birthday! We are investing in a Girl led future starting with investing in the mental health of young girls. We are building our Girl Peer Advocates program, our program will increase mental health literacy among girls (ages 12 to 18) and adults, specifically members of Girl Scouts and volunteer adult Troop Leaders, Community Development Troop Facilitators, and staff as well as community members, to target the identification of behavioral health crises and disorders in peers, coordination of linkages to the system of care for identified youth, prevention of suicide and related behaviors, and promotion of resiliency and recovery.
Girl participants in Girl Scouts will be taught in Teen Mental Health Literacy (TMHL) to identify and link peers to supportive services both in school and in the community. Once trained in TMHL, Girl Peer Advocates (GPAs) will then lead a Take Action project where they identify a problem in their community related to mental health and tackle the factors that cause or contribute to it. Troop Leaders and Community Development Troop Facilitators will learn Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA).
Partner with us to invest in the next generation of girls during the 110 Days of Giving Campaign beginning in November!
